The conference, which had as its theme "Transformation Towards Sustainable Natural Sciences," brought together scientists and specialists from around the world to solve urgent environmental issues using a multidisciplinary approach that integrated computer science, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and pharmacy. This momentous occasion demonstrated Pakuan University's dedication to promoting sustainable solutions based on cutting-edge technology and thorough scientific research.
A wide range of scholarly contributions from several domains were given at ICOTENS 2024. The importance of modeling and prediction in comprehending environmental changes and maximizing resources for conservation was highlighted in mathematical talks. Research in biology examined how pollution and climate change affect biodiversity, while chemistry advances concentrated on environmentally friendly technology and sustainable materials. Pharmacy contributions showed how to manufacture pharmaceuticals in a sustainable way, and computer science was crucial in applying data analytics, AI, and machine learning to resource management and environmental monitoring.
Two plenary sessions featuring eminent keynote speakers were presented at ICOTENS 2024. Asep Denih, S.Kom., M.Sc., Ph.D., dean of FMIPA UNPAK, moderated the first plenary session, which featured presentations from Prof. Dr. Anna Permanasari, M.Si. from Universitas Pakuan and Prof. Dr. Eng. Kuwat Triyana, M.Si. from Gadiah Mada University. Professor Dr. Ir. Sata Yoshida Srie Rahayu, M.Si, professor of FMIPA UNPAK, moderated the second plenary session, which featured talks by Prof. Masahiro Tasumi from the University of Miyazaki and Prof. Dr. Abdul Talib bin Bon from Tun Hussein Onn University of Malaysia.
These sessions were followed by a number of parallel sessions where invited speakers shared their knowledge in their respective fields. These speakers included Dr. Muhammad Yudhistira Azis, M.Si. from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Hisyam Abdul Hamid, Ph.D. from Universiti Telnologi MARA, Prof. Adrian J. from Forca Guimaras State University Philippine, Prof. Madya Dr. M. Syaifullah bin Rusiman from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Dr. Fathi Alhashmi Ali from Libyan Academy Libya, Dr. Thanh Tien Nguyen from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and Prof. Pham Van Hung from Vietnam National University.
